Game Notes & Interview

Loyal Fan Tim Bauer was in attendence at the Mercyhurst/Gannon lacrosse showdown held @ Gannon University
Over the weekend i was able to attend the Mercyhurst/Gannon Women's Lacrosse game held on Gannon's Campus. It was a sunny day but the temperatures were very low, in the 40s. The game was very exciting at first then Gannon started to pull away. Gannon was ranked #6 in the Conference and Mercyhurst was #3, so techincally Hurst got upset, which is never a good thing. They played hard but Gannon was just too much for them, as Gannon ended up winning the battle by a score of 13-8. I believe Mercyhurst will learn from this loss and keep their heads up. There is a lot of season left and they need to keep fighting to stay in the runnings for playoffs. Overall, it was a very interesting game and i enjoyed it a great deal
__________
I was not able to interview a coach or player from either side so i decided to question a loyal lacrosse fan. Tim Bauer, now attending Penn State Behrend College is a very big sports fan and tries to attend as much as possible. I was able to sit down with him and ask him a few questions regarding the game and his thoughts:
Q 1: What do you think was the main factor that Mercyhurst ended up losing this game?
Tim: I believe that Mercyhurst just let up in the longrun and was not able to conpete with Gannon. Both of the teams played very well and hard tonight, but Gannon played a bit better.
Q2: What do you think the Lakers needed to do to win that game?
Tim: Well they started out very strong right after halftime, as that one girl scored back to back goals, but it just wasn't enough. Gannon just had an answer for everything that Mercyhurst threw at them.
Q3: Was this one of the most exciting lax games?
Tim: I thought it was very exciting, especially right after half but i was dissappointed in the outcome, i wanted Hurst to drive a come back and pull off the victory.
Q4: Why did Gannon win the game?
Tim: By their defense, flat out. Their D was superb.
Q5: Do you plan on attending another Mercyhurst/Gannon Lax showdown?
Tim:Yes, i actually want to watch the men's lax team duke it out. It's always a good battle.
Presque Isle

Today Presque Isle is used as a Pennsylvania state park, Presque Isle State Park, that is open to the public for a wide variety of recreation. The peninsula became a state park in 1921, and since then large amounts of money have been spent to make visiting the park a better and more pleasant experience. Three years after becoming a park the project of lying paved roads around the park began. Today the road network creates a 13-mile loop around the outer edge of peninsula. Before the roads were built the only visitor to the park were primarily boaters. Many years later the roads were destroyed by storms, and they were rebuilt further away from the shore. The peninsula has a great environment for exercising. In 1984, a multi-purpose blacktop trail was built for bike riding, running, and inline skating. In 1992, 55 break walls were constructed off the shore to slow down the waves thus slowing down the amount erosion that would take place on beaches. These break walls save the park over a million dollars a year that would be spent on replenishing sand on the beaches.
Above is the slidshow that I made on my trip to Presque Isle in Erie, PA. On the adventure i took some very good shots, trying to explain the state park of Preque Isle as best as I could. I captured some good pictures of Perry Monument, picnic pavillions, light houses, and nature trails. The geese that were all around provided some great action shots. My girlfriend came along with her dog and I included the dog is some photographs as well. Overall, the trip was very scenic and fun. Enjoy!

Web 2.0
Web 2.0 is the 2nd and newest revision or generation of web-site design. Social networking sits, wikis, and blogs are just a few newly added aspects in Web 2.0. It provides an exploitation of Communication, new generation of technologies, its own platform, and business successes everywhere.
Web 2.0 provides many positive things for businesses as well as the overall society as well. Web 2.0 has connected many people and provides opportunities to the world. I believe that Web 2.0 is our future and that we need to keep using it as much as possible, without overusing it.

Urban Decay Photos
These are my photos that i took over the weekend of old run-down decaying buildings, etc. I figured everyone would go right to State St. in Erie, PA and take the typical rusty, crumbled, and out of date buildings, but i took a different approach to it. I decided to take photographs in Wesleyville and Harborcreek to be different. These are what i came up with!
Old Auto Garage - Wesleyville, PA
Old Harborcreek Mall (1)

Week 1 Post

Over break I had a very exciting experience. All my teammates and friends from our State Championship basketball team in highschool got together and played a few basketball pick up games. Memories of that 2007 season were all brought up and it was just a good time getting together with the guys. During that season we had an undefeated record of 33-0 and conquered the state title in February of that year. That adventure and journey will never be forgotten, and will stick with me throughout my life.
